About: Mike Evans graduated MIT in 2000 with a pile of debt shortly after the dot com bust. Undeterred, he ventured forth into the quickly imploding world of online advertising to work at Apartments.com. Mike wrote version one of GrubHub.com because he was frustrated with futilely searching for delivery restaurants and grumbling through inaccurate orders. These days, Mike spends his time directing operations at GrubHub.com, marathon training, and of course, dining on scrumptious delivery meals at home.


Favorite foods: Anything Salmon. Grilled salmon, salmon Benedict, smoked salmon, stuffed salmon, salmon sashimi. Anything Whisky. Bourbon, Scotch, Whiskey, Whisky, Smokey, Peaty, Neat, Blended, Malted, Vatted.

Worst food delivery experience: Riding home on the 151 bus in the winter. Salt, snow and mud caked on the windows. My nose stuck in the armpit of the guy next to me. Got home. Too tired to cook. Called nine restaurants in the phone book before I finally found one that delivered. Finally ordered some Chinese, got some weird plum sauce stuff on shrimp? pork? I don't know! I started writing GrubHub.com that night.
