When it comes to my food, I’m not one for highbrowed, celebrity spotting eateries.

Restaurant owner and chef, Vijay Punani, has spent the last two years developing a concept to bring home-style Indian cuisine with fast service and reasonable prices to Chicagoans looking for fresh and flavorful meals.

While I could go into a whole diatribe about whether the Phillies or the Yankees have the best starting lineup, I’ll keep my opinions under lock and key. But when it comes to food, it’s definitely a toss-up for me as to which city serves up the best grub.

While I started the season off hoping — as I do every year — that my Cubbies would have a serious shot at winning that elusive World Series title, it was over before it even began. But I’m not going to cry about it — I did that last year. Instead, I’m going to root for another team and eat a lot.

I never restrict my diet when I travel to New York. As soon as I land, every cell in my body yearns to stuff itself with dozens of slurpy good soup dumplings from Joe’s Shanghai over on Pell Street, indulge in Sabrett hot dogs, and of course, take in gobs of hot pastrami from Carnegie Deli on 7th Ave. at 55th.
