Happy Monday Seamless fans! We’re gearing up for the weekend as autumn sets in here in New York. And when we’re not sending food to your door, we’re reading the news, and searching for the latest, most interesting food happenings. Here they are:
- A scientific breakthrough answers why we prefer specific foods paired with specific wines. Thanks to research from a team from Rutgers University i and the Monell Chemical Sense Institute in Philly, we will now know why we love grilled lamb with a full-bodied cabernet, snapper with a sauvignon blanc, and roast duck with pinot noir.
- Mo Yan of China won the Nobel Prize for Literature. And while that’s not quite foodie news on its own, check out some beautiful excerpts from one of Yan’s books, “The Republic of Wine.”
- Yes the food truck craze is now kind of so last year, but on those rare days when we’re not ordering in, we do try to track down some of our favorite mobile kitchens. (Friday, for instance, the Cinnamon Snail vegan lunch truck is a mere 7 blocks and two avenues from Seamless HQ.) And though the Cinnamon Snail’s name is so exotic that it need not have a slogan per say, SF Weekly lists some of their favorite food truck slogans. What are some of yours?
