NYC Restaurant Health Inspection Letter Grades
You, our hungry Seamless members, are savvy eaters and want to know all there is to know about the food you eat. Many of you have asked us about the new letter grades that restaurants in NYC are now required to display in their front windows, and we want to make sure we’re giving you the info you need to make your delivery or pickup order just as awesome as always.
As a bit of background, in 2011, NYC Mayor Bloomberg and the NYC Department of Health (DOH) kicked off a program for NYC-based restaurants to display a DOH letter-grade in their windows. These grades are meant to help inform customers of the general cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the eating establishments. You, our users, have asked for Seamless to feature these grades on Seamless. While we don’t have immediate plans to change the ordering interface on the site or on our mobile apps, we are more than happy to make this information available to you through the NYC.gov direct site itself. On the site you can search for specific restaurants and find out their inspection results. We respect your feedback and want to empower our users to help themselves, eat happily and healthily.
