Read about our favorite Seamless Moment!
Here at Seamless, we’ve been providing memorable moments for our members since 1999 and this month, we held a contest allowing you all to share those moments with us on Facebook. We had a lot of great entries that made us laugh, cry (tears of joy), and laugh again. Then you all voted on your favorites and from your top 20, one entry stood out above them all, and it came from Shaina Stahl.
There could be no doubting the momentous-ness of this moment and Shaina now has a much deserved $250 in free food on Seamless coming her way! Now are you ready to see what everyone was so excited about?
Here it is: “Seamlessons in New York Living”
Thursday evening, I’m preparing dinner dressed in after-work sweat-pants and button-down blouse. Then, a shriek stopped my heart. “COCKROACH!” Julia bolts from kitchen to living room, jumping high, her head inches from ceiling.
I approached my enemy, “Whack!” Still moving. “WHACK!” Cockroach is winning. I end up half smashing it, half whipping it, like a horse, encouraging to move faster. With help, the vacuum sucks it into its freshly-cleaned chamber.
Still alive, it’s whipping around the spherical-container at what must-be 30-miles-per-hour. Incredibly large amounts of bug spray does not work.
I feel guilt at the torture I’m putting this creature through: first the centrifuge, now gas chamber, but I’m unwilling to watch him wiggle-around. The thought crosses my mind that if we could communicate, he would likely give-up the location of the cockroach-terrorist-cells and plead to stop his misery. Soon, little friend…I hope. Finally: relief.
I click “favorites” Seamlessweb to favorite meal. There’s poison filled, burned, remnant-of-a-meal in kitchen. I order Indian-food-for-six. I sit for 15-minutes until a door-buzz makes me jump, as if roach’s friends came to claim the body. The nice-man hands me food. Seamlessweb saved me.
