Seamless at the Taste of Tribeca
This past Saturday, we spent the beautiful day at the Taste of Tribeca culinary festival with hundreds of people — foodies and families alike! Everyone (including us!) was eager to taste delicious dishes from over 70 local Tribeca restaurants. The gorgeous weather, the good people, and the awesome food made for a truly wonderful day. Take a look!
Arguably the most important part of the day was the food that was offered. Some of the dishes included were: Bagels from Zuckers, Pulled pork sandwiches from Walkers, Black Cod wrapped in Butter Lettuce from Nobu Next Door, Ricotta Meatball Sandwich from Terroir Tribeca, Nutella crepes from Cosmopolitan Café, Pastrami Sandwiches from Kutsher’s Tribeca, and Bliss Bowls from Yorganic.
One of the highlights of the day was the Greenmarket Challenge sponsored by Seamless. Bill Weir from ABC’s Nightline hosted an ultimate cook-off challenge between Chef John Sierp from M1-5 and Chef Russell Moss from 92Y Café who competed to create some delicious surprise dishes. The judges for the event were John Franco (former NY Mets pitcher), Michelle Park (NY1), and Alyssa Shelasky (Grub Street). The chefs hand selected fresh ingredients from the Washington Market Farmer’s Market, which they incorporated into a tasty meal.
In the end, Sierp’s delicious Fish Taco won over the judges’ tastebuds and he was declared the winner of the 2012 Greenmarket Challenge. Not only did the judges get to eat the food, but a few lucky members of the general public were chosen to sample the food as well! Some lucky diners!
