With over 8,000 restaurants on Seamless, and 4,000 of them in NYC, the options can be severely overwhelming. Just like you, we need help knowing what the hot spots are. Thanks to the Seamless community, we discovered that !Eatery was a crazy popular (over 216 reviews!). With our new office location near the Theater District, we knew that this had to be one of the first places we ordered from. !Eatery, here we come.
The menu at !Eatery is extensive. The contemporary American cuisine is featured throughout the appetizers, entrees, and sides. Because of all the delicious options, it was very difficult to decide what to order. Ultimately, I went with the Turkey and Asiago Panini with Sweet Potato Fries. Elliott got in on this order, and decided to get the raved about Mac & Jack and a side of Asparagus (for some green, I suppose). We also decided that dessert was in order. The E-wich was calling our names and we could not silence it. Now… how did it all taste?
As soon as the food came, we ran to greet it at the front door. We were starving and we were excited to dig in. Here’s the guy’s perspective:
The Mac & Jack mac and cheese was maybe the best delivery Mac N Cheese I’ve ever had. Fair warning, I’m not the type that goes for an over-the-top cheeseplosion. Rather I prefer a nice ratio of mac to cheese, and this delivered. Yet obviously the most important thing for any mac n cheese is the topping, and !Eatery nailed it with seasoned bread crumbs – and plenty of them. And yet, instead of resting there, they pushed further and threw a boatload of friend onion strings right on top just for kicks. The end result is a delicious blend of textures and tastes that was 100% satisfying. The only problem was my total lack of self control and the disgusted faces of those who watched me scarf it down.
To balance out the fatty goodness of my entrée I opted for some nice grilled asparagus on the side. Nothing too fancy here, just plain and simple, but tasty.
The sandwich I ordered was also pretty great. It was a simple turkey and cheese sandwich, but it was really pumped up with caramelized onions and cranberry relish. It was easy to eat and not so messy. I thoroughly enjoyed the cranberry on the side. When the sauce and/or spread is provided for you and just schmeared on, it can really ruin a lunch. I’m glad that !Eatery gave me the opportunity to schmear and dip the cranberry sauce as I saw fit. With the sandwich I also got sweet potato fries. The fries were a great accompaniment to the sandwich. They were standard sweet potato, cut thinly and nicely. Nothing special, but not bad.
And now the dessert. To be honest, we opened the E-Wich before we even started our real meals (and not just because we thought the ice cream would melt). The E-wich is described as Brownie & vanilla gelato sandwich with caramel & chocolate sauce. It was sweet, but not overly sweet. It was chocolatey, but not too decadent. It was just great. The vanilla bean ice cream that came with it was delicious and fresh. While the delivery may have made it look like the mess below, we promise it tasted much much better. It’s a perfect treat for when you want to indulge.
