If you’re longtime reader of the Daily Grub, you’ve probably read past posts about various charity work done and sponsored by GrubHub and GrubHub employees. This Saturday, June 5th, GrubHub will help sponsor the 10th Annual KFM Cancer Classic.
The KFM Cancer Classic is an annual miniature golf tournament designed to raise money and awareness to fight cancer. My former college roommate, Kevin Monahan, created the charity event under the premise that, regardless of wealth and age, we can and should help others in need. In the nine previous years, the KFM Cancer Classic has raised over $105,000. One hundred percent of proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
While the goal is to raise money to fight a serious disease, the miniature golf outing itself is challenging and fun. Last year’s winner shot a 46. If you laughed at the score, you haven’t played the Green at Grant Park yet. It’s not your daddy’s miniature golf course!
Other event highlights include the presentation of a coveted plaid jacket for the winner, a limousine entrance for past winners, an award for the best dressed, and a Fossil Award.
Unfortunately, the event has already sold out this year. However, you can still donate money at kfmcancerclassic.org.
