Hello folks! It feels like yesterday I was here telling you about our 2011 pledge to exponentially expand our services. I even emphasized that with a few exclamation points.
Hopefully you’ve noticed that we’ve been hard at work making good on that pledge – launching in lots of new markets, bringing more restaurant choices to you than ever before, and adding lots of cool new feature upgrades to our site and apps. No sleep ‘til Brooklyn!
With that in mind, I’m tremendously excited to tell you that we have raised $50 million in Series E funding to fuel our planetary mobile domination and most excitingly, to acquire New York-based Dotmenu, the parent company of Campusfood and Allmenus. This is really big, like original “Star Wars” big. Colossal, even. Campusfood is a powerhouse that offers online food ordering to students on more than 300 college campuses nationwide, and Allmenus.com lists over 250,000 restaurant menus. By becoming one team, we bring the most choices for diners, the most orders to restaurants and have the most talented group of folks dedicating their lives to your ultimate dining satisfaction.
So, yes, I know, the burning question: “What does this mean for me? Your loyal diner/restaurant?” How do I turn up the volume on this thing so you can hear me loud and clear… We are sticking to the same pledge we’ve always made to you –we are hunkering down and bringing you even more great stuff in the coming year. Your experience with GrubHub will not be any different just because we got bigger. In fact, we’re bringing you more choices and more features as fast as we can. The changes we’ve made over the past few months to our mobile apps and site are only just the beginning. We are constantly listening to your comments and feedback, and we are working harder than ever to bring you the best.
So please join me in welcoming Dotmenu. We feel tremendously fortunate to have them come on board with us and we are extremely excited for what’s in store ahead! Watch this space for more news to come.
We’re always looking for feedback – that will never change – so if you have some great ideas to make us better, feel free to let us know at email@example.com. BTW, we are still hiring! So checkout our careers page if you’re interested in working with us.
