We’re remarkably excited to announce that we’ve secured a round of Series D funding to the tune of $20 million dollars from DAG Ventures with Benchmark participating. Remarkably excited is actually a dramatic understatement. It’s more like remarkably excited plus some exponents and a few exclamation points.
But the point of this isn’t to tell you how excited we are. That would be a terrible blog post. The point of this is, first off, to thank you for helping us to get this far. To have some of the top VCs in the land looking to give us cash is a sign that we’re doing some things very right, sure, but it’s also a reflection of the support we’ve received from both our restaurants and diners over the last few years. Without your help, we’d have been dead a long time ago. Which leads to our second point – we want to thank you with a pledge:
We’re not going to let extra zeroes in our bank account get in the way of what we set out to do. Instead, we’re going to take those extra zeroes and apply them to doing everything we already do even better.
We’re going to double our footprint in 2011—we’ll be in over 26 cities, so keep a lookout. We’re going to add more upgrades to our mobile apps. We’re going to freely host menus and other details for over 80,000 independent restaurants in 2011. Diners will have more options. Restaurants will get more orders. It’s the same thing we set out to do, except it’s getting done on an exponential scale. With some exclamation points.
We’re always looking for feedback, so if you have some great ideas to make our service even better, feel free to let us know at email@example.com. And did I mention, we’re hiring like crazy. So checkout our careers page if you’re interested in working with us.
