It’s spring here at GrubHub and we have some exciting new news to talk about. I know I’ve made this claim before, repeatedly, but seriously, this news trumps the old, big news. Cue the drumroll, folks…
I am really excited to announce that we have signed an agreement to merge with our friends at Seamless. This will allow us to deliver even more innovative products and services to you, our diners and restaurants – which has been our goal since day one.
So, how will this work, exactly?
If GrubHub is the chocolate, Seamless is the peanut butter – they taste great on their own, but even better together.
GrubHub is available in more than 500 cities across the U.S. and features more than 20,000 online and mobile ordering restaurants. Seamless serves consumers and more than 4,000 corporate businesses in 13 major metro markets. This means we’ll be able to connect even more hungry diners to more restaurants across the country. We’ve both been pretty darn innovative – GrubHub with our iOS and Android apps and Track Your Grub technology, and Seamless with their mobile apps for iPhone, Android and Blackberry, as well as their sweet iPad app. Imagine where we can take this together!
Now, with all that said, I know you are probably thinking: “This is all well and good, but what does this REALLY mean for me, your loyal GrubHub diner or restaurant?” For now? Not much. GrubHub and Seamless will be continuing with business as usual until the deal closes, and for the immediate future. There will be no change to the level of service you have come to expect from us. And trust that we will take the necessary time to ensure that any changes we make going forward will help us bring even better products and services your way.
