Profile: Seamless Eater of the Week: Mita

Seamless’ Member of the Week Profile: Mita

Every week, we ask a different Seamless member questions about ordering food online, food in general, and other fun topics. This week we have Mita, a Seamless early adopter and insect hater.

Name: Mita

Age: 30

Occupation: MBA/MS in Information Systems Student

How and When Did You Discover Seamless? Discovered it in ’04 while working at a law firm in the city. Definitely made working through the night that much more exciting!

Where Do You Use Seamless? Mostly now at home but I’ve heard of some friends ordering Seamless to deliver straight to school. (Ed. note: Hmmm… some smart friends at that school of yours!)

Favorite Kind of Food: Impossible to say one, am a big time foodie and love all cuisines.

Least Favorite Kind of Food: Not a huge fan of lobster or coleslaw or grasshoppers, had them once in a taco at Oyamel in DC – awesome food there but prefer to stomp on bugs rather than eat them.

Favorite Place(s) to Order From on Seamless? Szechuan Gourmet, Sushi Hana, Thai Basil, Basera Indian Bistro, Big Nick’s. (Ed. note: That’s quite a list of fantastic NYC places!)

Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? When you’re just about to add the last thing in your order and you get disconnected.

Closest Previous Brush with Internet Fame? Here’s my 15 minutes! I also write a blog called Mixing with Mita on food and drink, which I’d better go update… (Ed. note: We recommend! Great read!)

Favorite Celebrity Chef? Richard Sandoval – Zengo’s menu says it all, and Jose Andres – lived in DC for a while and love his restaurants, even if they like to serve insects on the menu.

Favorite Cartoon Growing Up? Do comic books count? Loved the Asterix & Obelix series and all of their characters, not to mention their wild boar feasts. Also Thundercats – thunder, thunder, thunder, THUNDERCATS!

What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? The ability to convert water into wine.

In the Past Year, What’s the Latest You’ve Stayed Up and Why? 6AM – both for work and play – there’s something about MBA students who despite given deadlines ahead of time like to work on things the night before, and there’s something written in our DNA that we have to hit up one more Irish pub/halal stand/greasy diner/K-town before we go home.

Plans for Tonight? Ha, well, classes just started on Tuesday and we have our MBA get-togethers on Thursday nights so with everyone back, think this will be an epic night of catching up with old friends and making new ones…so I may see another 6am night.

E-mail us at if you’d like to be the next Eater of the Week or if you’d like to suggest a friend!
