SeamlessWeb’s NYC Member of the Week Profile: Brian
Every week, we ask a different SeamlessWeb member questions about ordering food online, food in general, and other fun topics. This week we have Brian, a Bob Seger fan who enjoys Greek food.
Occupation: Public Relations
How and When Did You Discover SeamlessWeb? I was getting frustrated by orders consistently being messed up a few years ago, and Google’d “restaurant delivery NYC” and I discovered the glory that is SeamlessWeb. (Ed: SEO FTW!)
Where Do You Use SW? Occasionally at work on a rainy day, but usually at home. My roommates and I are big SeamlessWeb fans, so when we all eat together we almost always order through you guys. (Ed: SeamlessWeb is well-known as a traditional male bonding technique.)
Favorite Kind of Food: It’s hard to beat Greek food, and Italian comes in a close second.
Least Favorite Kind of Food: I like just about every kind of cuisine, so I don’t know if I can list one. But I didn’t like rabbit much the couple of times I’ve had it. Maybe it’s because I was a huge Bugs Bunny fan growing up. Let’s be honest – Space Jam was the bomb. (Ed: So true.)
Favorite Place(s) to Order From on SW? Lychee Restaurant. Their Drunk Man Noodles and Basil Fried Rice are incredible, but I really do it for their peanut sauce. It’s out of this world. No matter what I order, I always get sticky rice and peanut sauce as well.
Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? When you’re ordering with a group, you just always know something is going to get messed up. There’s nothing worse than trying to order 50 wings for the big game and having the restaurant deliver 15 because they didn’t hear you right. (Ed: Preach on brotha.)
Closest Previous Brush with Internet Fame? I’m a huge fan of the Cigar Guy meme, so a friend of mine photoshopped a bunch of pictures of me along with Cigar Guy and set it to Rick Ross’ “Push It” – Watch it here.
Favorite Celebrity Chef? Without question, Anthony Bourdain. With him, it’s more about the experience of eating food than just the food itself. His love for travel, skill in the kitchen and brash attitude add up make him the baddest dude in the biz.
Favorite Cartoon Growing Up? The Simpsons. Perhaps one of the greatest television shows of all time, too. (Ed: We for one welcome our cartoon overlords.)
What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? I wish I could teleport. Being able to work until 6, teleport to Seattle for dinner with my parents at 7 and be back in Brooklyn at Full Circle Bar for Brewskee-Ball (the competitive skee-ball league I play in) in time for my match at 9 would be spectacular.
In the Past Year, What’s the Latest You’ve Stayed Up and Why? On Halloween this year, my girlfriend and a few friends were out until around 3:30. That’s the latest I had been up in a few years, when I was at a party in Brooklyn (on Halloween, I sense a trend) and Bill Murray wandered in at 4:30 in the morning. I gave him a beer. That was an epic evening… Even referenced in the NY Post!
Plans for Tonight? Watching Planet Earth on Blu-ray with my girlfriend, a bottle of merlot, and some sticky rice with peanut sauce. ‘Cause tonight, I’m the sauce boss.
