SeamlessWeb’s NYC Member of the Week Profile: Jay
Every week, we ask a different SeamlessWeb member questions about ordering food online, food in general, and other fun topics. This week we have Jay, a UX designer who cuts right to the chase.
Occupation: User Experience Designer
How and When Did You Discover SeamlessWeb? When I started working with a bunch of software developers. They love food and hate leaving their computer. (Ed: They sound just like our type of people!)
Where Do You Use SW? I usually use it when I’m on my way home and want to place an order to pick up in my neighborhood. I live on a street with a lot of great restaurants, so I rarely need delivery, since everything is so close by.
Favorite Kind of Food: Tacos al pastor. (Ed: That is intriguingly specific!)
Least Favorite Kind of Food: Vegan versions of non-vegan things.
Favorite Place(s) to Order From on SW? It’s great for Indian or Thai, where you’re ordering a bunch of different things. Plus, Max Tribeca has a chicken parm entree that’s not on the regular lunch menu.
Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? Mix-ups.
Closest Previous Brush with Internet Fame? The NY Times did a web piece a few months ago on the trivia night at my corner bar. If you look closely, you can see me, very out of focus, in the background of one of the photos. (Ed: It still counts!)
Favorite Celebrity Chef? Gordon Ramsay. The original Kitchen Nightmares on the BBC are hilarious.
Favorite Cartoon Growing Up? Rocky and Bullwinkle.
What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? Invisibility.
In the Past Year, What’s the Latest You’ve Stayed Up and Why? I plead the 5th. (Ed: We don’t even want to know what that means…)
Plans for Tonight? Me and Liz Lemon are going to split a pizza. (Ed: Perfect. Date.)
