Seamless has some of the best fans in the world. They stand by us during the hangriest of times and come to us to feed them day in and day out. This is a weekly feature where we highlight one of our proudest and most awesome Seamlessers. This week, we have Brooke, a loyal Seamlesser who hates chicken because it’s just too boring.
First Name: Brooke
Occupation: Social Media Community Manager
How and When Did You Discover Seamless? Wow. I think I’ve been using Seamless for 8 years. I remember being over at a friend’s house and he suggested we order. Instead of bringing out a huge stack of menus, he opened his laptop. I was flabbergasted. When I got home, I promptly threw out my lime green binder of nicely organized menus, and never looked back.
Where Do You Use Seamless? The better question would be, where don’t I use Seamless. I use it at work, but opt to pick up instead. The feeling of cutting the line at Chop’t, while all of the New Years Resolutioners are waiting to order their salads? PRICELESS! I order at dinnertime when I just want to veg out in front of the TV after a long day. I have even been known to order from bars that allow delivery.
Favorite Kind of Food: I love pretty much all Asian food.
Least Favorite Kind of Food: I like all cuisines, but I dislike CHICKEN! Except for the skin, chicken is just so boring. I avoid it at all costs. I want adventure in my life and chicken is not it!
Favorite Place(s) to Order From on Seamless? China Fun. When I lived on the Upper East Side, I would order from there all the time. As a young adult in NYC it seems not entirely out of the ordinary to wake up from a crazy night with a drink in your hand. Not me, I’d wake up with greasy duck fat around my mouth, and my hand in a container of dumplings. (This is real, a friend really found me like this!)
What’s your record for orders placed on Seamless in a 24-hour period? Luckily, I have an awesome girlfriend who also has a Seamless account. We switch on and off when we order, but we probably have placed 3 or 4 orders between us in a 24 hour period before.
If you had to eat food for 30 days in a row, what would that be? Dumplings! They are just so perfect. The word “dumpling” is even super cute! Also, there are just so many different kinds that even after 30 days I still probably wouldn’t have tried them all.
Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? Ugh, I am just the wimpiest wimp on the phone.
Favorite Celebrity Chef? The list is probably too long. If Anthony Bourdain still considers himself a chef, he would probably be at the top of the list. He is the cool rockstar of chefs and we love all the same food. Next is Marcus Samuelsson. He does a lot for the Harlem community and is generally awesome. I sat next to him on the train once and while I wanted to tell him how much I like Aquavit and Red Rooster, I ended up just giggling the entire time. Most recently I’ve been obsessed with April Bloomfield. You will be too, after you try the crispy deep fried pig ears at Salvation Taco. They are the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life.
What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? It’s not food related, but I would love to read thoughts. That would just be really cool.
Plans for Tonight? I’m just going to have a nice quiet night ordering from Ozen, vegging on the couch and shrieking in excitement at my favorite tv show, Scandal. Sorry neighbors. Happy Valentine’s Day to me!
