Seamless has some of the best fans in the world. They stand by us during the hangriest of times and come to us to feed them day in and day out. This is a weekly feature where we highlight one of our proudest and most awesome Seamlessers. This week, we have Lauren a Seamless Baller who uses Seamless to stay alive.
First Name: Lauren
Occupation: TV producer & improv comedian
How and When Did You Discover Seamless? It’s hard to remember a time when Seamless wasn’t in my life, but I think I first discovered it three years ago. I was trying to figure out the easiest way to order in and my girlfriend looked at me with a combination of shock and pity and asked “you don’t have a Seamless account!?” I’d never heard of Seamless until that moment, but her tone told me this was a huge oversight, so I signed up for an account and realized that she was very very right.
Where Do You Use Seamless? I use Seamless EVERYWHERE: at work, at home (oh my god, do I use it at home), and anywhere else I happen to be in the city at any given time. My favorite thing to do is place an order on Seamless right before I get on the train to head home. Once I walk in the door of my apartment, I only end up having to wait 5 minutes for my meal to arrive! I believe that is what the young folks refer to as BALLER.
Favorite Kind of Food: I really really love Thai food.
Least Favorite Kind of Food: This is going be a pretty inflammatory statement, but… I do not like bread. I love sandwiches, but bread on its own is repulsive to me. I don’t like bread with my meal. Just thinking about it gives me dry mouth. Ew. I never touch the bread basket at restaurants. I don’t understand why anyone would want to fill up on something so forgettable when there are so many more amazing things–like meat– to enjoy. Sorry, world.
Favorite Place to Order From on Seamless? Oh man! This is so hard! Right now, I’d say my favorite place to order from is Kitchenette in Harlem. Their dinner staples are INCREDIBLE. The turkey meatloaf/mashed potatoes combo has kicked off many a weekend for me, and their honey-drizzled fried chicken is, to quote everyone in the 90s (and me circa right now), THE BOMB.
What’s your record for orders placed on Seamless in a 24-hour period? I have ordered all three meals from Seamless in one day–that’s nothing. What’s more noteworthy is how many times I have had all three meals from Seamless, multiple days in a row. I am only exaggerating a little bit when I say Seamless literally keeps me alive.
If you had to eat one food for 30 days in a row, what would that be? If I could only eat one food for 30 days in a row, I’d have to pick a sweet potato. There are so many ways to prepare it; I could have it as a savory and filling dinner or make it into a sweet dessert. I would never get bored!
Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? I hate being put on hold! Especially when “hold” just means leaving me on the line so I can hear all of the crazy restaurant noise for an interminable period of time.
Favorite Celebrity Chef? I honestly know nothing about celebrity chefs, but my girlfriend really likes Anthony Bourdain and he seems like a cool guy, so I’ll just say him.
What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? I wish I had the power to teleport. I am always running late! If I could blink and be where I needed to be in less than 5 seconds, I’d be so much more productive… and punctual.
Plans for Tonight? I work on a weekly TV show that airs on Fridays, so my standing Thursday night plans are always hanging out with the rest of my team at work finishing the show and ordering dinner on Seamless!
