Seamless has some of the best fans in the world. They stand by us during the hangriest of times and come to us to feed them day in and day out. This is a weekly feature where we highlight one of our proudest and most awesome Seamlessers. This week, we have Rebecca who checks out Seamless options for an address before submitting an apartment application.
First Name: Rebecca
Occupation: College Career Counselor
How and When Did You Discover Seamless? Back in the fall of 2006, a good friend showed it to me when we first moved to the city. I thought he was a genius, and the site definitely is. After living in the city for almost 7 years, I’ve learned that the Seamless selection for an apartment plays almost as great a role in the decision to put down an application as its rent.
Where Do You Use Seamless? Mostly at home, sometimes at work, and more and more from my phone.
Favorite Kind of Food: I’ll eat basically anything and love every cuisine from Japanese to Turkish to Ethiopian, but there’s nothing better to me than a big juicy medium rare burger with fries. Brindle Room in the East Village serves a great one that’s available on Seamless!
Least Favorite Kind of Food: Green peppers. Just…why?
Favorite Place to Order From on Seamless? Brindle Room (see above), Kanoyama for fantastic and underrated sushi, Motorino for some of the city’s best pizza (try the brussel sprout version), The Smith for delicious brunch (potato waffle benedict!) or elevated spins on comfort food classics, Odessa for great pierogies and solid diner food.
What’s your record for orders placed on Seamless in a 24-hour period? Oof…I want to say 4? A shining moment!
If you had to eat one food for 30 days in a row, what would that be? It’d probably have to be somewhat healthy if I had it to eat it for 30 days straight (unless we all want to see Super Size Me Part Deux), so I’d go with sushi. Which I probably could have 30 days in a row anyway.
Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? EVERYTHING. Getting put on hold, having parts of the order missed, background noise, dropped calls…
Favorite Celebrity Chef? Eric Ripert, Thomas Keller, Geoffrey Zakarian. Loving Emeril now that he’s back on Top Chef. And he’s not a chef per se, but I absolutely love Adam Richman, formerly of Man v. Food. Adam, if you read this – call me!
What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? Time travel. Back to the Future is my jam.
Plans for Tonight? Going to a fancy-pants benefit for a wonderful charity that I’m involved with, Hudson Guild. But if I weren’t there, I’d totally be watching Parks & Rec and ordering in on Seamless.
