Seamlesser of the Week is back and better than ever. Seamless has some of the best fans in the world. They stand by us during the hangriest of times and come to us to feed them day in and day out. This is a weekly feature where we highlight one of our proudest and most awesome Seamlessers. This week, we have Russ in NYC who loves Mexican food and wishes he could turn cats into money. (Ed note: Don’t we all…)
First Name: Russ
Age: 30 (old enough to know better but still young enough to really not care)
Occupation: Currently Social Media Director of the media/web company Flavorpill and its cultural critique blog Flavorwire. However, I’m actually leaving that positions, sort of as we speak (going away party is tonight), to focus on taking freelance opportunities, writing, and creating weird music/art/performance art/seapunk critique/Lynch pop with my band, Silent Drape Runners (the name is a Twin Peaks reference)
How and When Did You Discover Seamless? When I moved to New York three years ago I wondered what this “takeout” was that people were always getting. And then someone showed me Seamless. And then the addiction happened. And now it’s ongoing.
Where Do You Use Seamless? Work. Home. Various weird venues my band plays when soundcheck is like 6pm and show is at like 10pm and it’s like “welllll we should eat”
Favorite Kind of Food: Mexican. Mexican. Mexican. Falafel.
Least Favorite Kind of Food: Ice cream. It’s stupid.
Favorite Place(s) to Order From on Seamless? At work, Mooncake Foods. Their banh mi, while not totally authentic (but I’m a vegetarian so come on), is ADDICTIVE. At home, Kestane Kebab. It’s the absolute best falafel, and I found out about it on Seamless!
What’s your record for orders placed on Seamless in a 24-hour period? 4 I think.
If you had to eat food for 30 days in a row, what would that be? Nachos. Wait, is this “eat for 30 days in a row and not get fat”? If so, yeah, nachos.
Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? I hate talking to people.
Favorite Celebrity Chef? Richard Blais. He’s ridiculous and amazing and my all-time favorite Top Chef contestant, plus he reps my old hometown.
What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? Turn cats into money.
Plans for Tonight? My band is DJing at Manderley, the bar at Sleep No More. It’s my leaving Flavorpill party. So, absinthe.
