Here at Grubhub, our employees are pretty obsessed with food. Every day, we’re making sure delicious food finds its way to your door…and to ours. Say what? Correct, we too order from Grubhub (so meta).
With our “What I Ate in a Week” series, you’ll get a sneak peek into the lives of actual — never not hungry — Grubhub team members. A nice benefit that happens to come with our jobs is what we call “mealperks” — our weekly Grubhub stipend. Clearly, we’re using this to get the best bites in town each and every week.
On deck, we have: Cedric, a Corporate Care Specialist at Grubhub. Get the lowdown on his delivery highlights of the week and top ordering hacks.
Meet Cedric.
I’m Cedric and I’ve been with Grubhub since the fall of 2017. I’m from Sacramento, CA and I moved to Austin, TX in spring of 2012. In my spare time, I watch basketball and football… rooting for all Dallas teams. I also enjoy playing recreational adult sports leagues, video games, working out and spending time with my family. I’m a bit of a foodie… I enjoy exploring new, exciting, local restaurants. I like a lot of diverse cuisines like Korean, Thai, Japanese, Mexican and Indian. Oh… and pizza. (My favorite is Detroit style. Via 313 is hands down the best pizza place in Austin.)
Here are my top delivery eats from last week…
Poke Bowl Ola Poke
I’m really into poke bowls these days, so I was super happy when Ola Poke joined Grubhub. This is a dish that I always have ready on express reorder. It’s a create your own poke bowl. I like to add salmon, tuna, seaweed salad, onions, pineapple, cucumber salad and ponzu sauce. (I’m not a big fan of spicy sauces, but you can always add some on the side for a little kick.)
Bunless Burger from Moonies
This bunless burger from Moonies might look a little messy, but it was crazy good. If you’re on a low carb-diet, this is a solid option for you. It’s a chili turkey burger with no bun. Since this is Texas, the chili has no beans. I also precut the burger in small pieces so it was easier to eat.
Sushi from Kobe Japanese Steakhouse
I’m a huge fan of sush.since back in the day. I remember eating California Rolls as a kid. Kobe might be a Japanese steakhouse, but it has some really good sushi. My order was simple: a Tuna Roll and Philly Roll. The tuna roll is simple with just tuna and rice, while the Philly roll includes salmon, avocado and cream cheese. (If you’ve never had it, cream cheese is actually one of my favorite ingredients in sushi rolls.)
Beef Bulgogi from Ola Poke (Again)
I guess it’s obvious… I’m really into Ola Poke. They also include some delicious Korean dishes along with their bright and bold poke bowls. I ordered Beef Bulgogi, that comes with rice, veggies and a fried egg. An awesome mix of flavors and textures!
