Hello, hello! My name is Hannah and I currently reside in the Mile High City also known as Denver. I joined the Grubhub family last fall.
My day always starts with a cup of coffee and ends with a piece of frozen dark chocolate. Nine times out of 10, I’ll have packed a snack in my backpack, purse and, yes, even clutch. I used to work in marketing for a top fast food restaurant brand and now I’m helping college students maximize their day by ordering food ahead of time for pick up, so it’s safe to say my life has always revolved around food.
Here are my top eats from last week…
Poke Bowl from PokeWorld
My coworkers started to rave about a poke bowl place so naturally, I had all the questions – the best protein, best add ons, the best sauce, etc. I was convinced after just a few bites and PokeWorld is a go-to spot for me.
It’s to the point that the restaurant owners now know who I am. How? Because not only do I order from PokeWorld on (what seems like) a weekly basis, I get the same order, thanks to Grubhub’s handy express reorder capability of my exact delicious bowl. With all the topping options, my bowl typically consists of ½ brown rice, ½ greens, tofu, corn, pineapple, edamame, crispy onion, crispy garlic, almond, avocado topped with sesame seeds… with creamy sesame sauce on the side. Whenever I go in, I’m greeted with the friendliest hello and my meal is always ready–just waiting for me at their designated pick up spot. (Note: There’s a little check box to let them know if you don’t need utensils. Perfect if you’re taking it back to the office and have your own to use!)
Country Road Sandwich from Backcountry Delicatessen
I’m the person who lives by a paper planner and enjoys having my day, week or month planned out in advance. So, when I see a day full of meetings with a short window for lunch, you betcha I’ll be ordering my food for a designated time.
Backcountry Delicatessen is just a few blocks from our Denver office so I’m an avid user of scheduling my pickup time. Say hello to the Country Road sandwich: chicken breast, gouda, oven roasted tomatoes, red onion, field greens, pesto mayo – yum.
Something that surprised me was that Backcountry will keep your sandwich waiting for you in a refrigerator! If you got it toasted, they keep it in the back, where I assume they keep it warm. Also, if you’re trying to “save half of it for later” – trust me, won’t work. Their sandwiches are so yummy that you’ll inhale it.
Chicken Tikka Masala from Little India Restaurant & Bar
After a nice 80º weekend, Sunday scaries were real. The solution? Some delicious chicken tikka masala from Little India Restaurant & Bar!
It’s so nice to use Grubhub’s map to figure out which restaurants are located around my neighborhood. Luckily, Little India is just a short drive away so I opted for pickup. I showed up a few minutes early but my order was ready to go, and by the time I got home to unpack the deliciousness, everything was still warm! I’m currently writing this on a full stomach (AKA that infamous food coma), but worth every bite.
